With more companies deciding that Twitter is for them, one thing that seems to be forgotten is whether or not the marketing is successful. Is it being measured?
When marketing on Twitter, just like any other form of marketing, it requires some way for you to be able to measure the effectiveness. This way you aren’t spending time on something not producing results.
To start off, you’ll want to track the basics.
- Post count – the number of times you’ve tweeted in a given time frame
- Replies – the number of times another person’s tweet has started with @username in a given time frame
- Retweets – The number of times you’re tweets have been “retweeted” in a given time frame
- Mentions – the number of times your username was included in a tweet (but wasn’t considered a reply)
- Friends & followers
After you start measuring your intial results you may want to dive into further detail, such as:
- What tweets received the most attention? What can you learn from those tweets? Were they related to a contest or a particular subject?
- Are Twitter users mentioning your business name without using your Twitter account? Are they aware that you even exist on Twitter?
- Overall sentiment in replies to your Twitter account
- What day and time of day were your tweets most effective (with regards to replies, retweets and URL clicks)? .
The question you must ask to all of these is “why?” If you see an increase in follower count or replies, don’t simply report on the number. Find out why you believe the increase or decrease occurred. Once you start asking questions, you’ll find there is a lot more to report on than just followers. Lastly, you will want to see the referring traffic you receive to your website by using your analytics software.
After figuring out these easy answers you will be well informed of the splash your marketing efforts are making on Twitter.
After a critically acclaimed and sold out run at Seattle’s (Washington) 5th Avenue Theatre, Memphis the musical is all set to storm Broadway with its extraordinary original score, superb and award winning star cast and wholesome entertainment for the whole family.
Set in the backdrop of the radically changing society of the 1950s, this musical revolves around the life and times of Huey Calhoun, who is a disc jockey with a radio station in Memphis, Tennessee. Huey hears African American music in the black bars of Beale Street and develops a passion for race records. His on-air antics and infectious enthusiasm helps develop a new set of white audience for black music. Parallel to his professional life, his personal life also transcends the barriers of racism when he falls in love with Felicia Farrell, a beautiful black singer.
The drama develops with the growing relationship of the duo in the tumultuous times of the 1950s, along with the birth of rock and roll, gospel, rhythm and blues and David Bryan’s contemporary music weaving magic through the plot of Memphis.
The Broadway version has Derrick Baskin playing Gator, James Iglehart playing Bobby, J. Bernard Calloway playing Delray Jones and Michael McGrath playing Mr. Simons. Cass Morgan plays Gladys Calhoun. The show is directed by Christopher Ashley, while the choreography is by Sergio Trujillo. Paul Tazwell has designed the costumes and the scenic design is by David Gallo. In Broadway, the show is produced by Junkyard Dog Productions and Barbara and Buddy Freitag, in association with Marleen and Kenny Alhadeff, Demos Bizar Entertainment and Dancap Productions.
Memphis has earned several awards including San Diego’s Craig Noel Awards for Excellence in Theatre for Outstanding New Musical of 2008 and for the performance of its star, Chad Kimball (who plays Huey Calhoun). Not only that, the musical has been widely appreciated by the audience and has to its credit several sold out performances.
The music is an integral part of the production and the healthy dose of gospel, rhythm and blues, contemporary and rock and roll is a treat for music lovers, especially those who swear by music of the 1950s.
As a family entertainer, the musical gets top ratings. Whether it is a treat for the family or a cozy evening out with someone special, make sure you are not caught off guard without tickets in another sold out performance, which, may we mention here, is a common occurrence with Memphis musical.
