Boxee/New York, NYThis position is essential to create and maintain a new web experience for Boxee. It will be a mixture of Backend and Application development. We're a small team, so the more hats you can wear the better.

Responsibilities

* Plan and execute awesome new features that scale
* Help rethink and reshape our internal framework
* Improve and maintain our development environment and release system
* Monitor overall site performance, stability, and health.

Skills

* 3 years experience working on a high volume website
* Fluent in PHP and MySQL
* Strong communication skills
* Expertise with MVC methodologies required
* A history working in a cache-heavy environment required
* An unhealthy obsession with building efficient, clean, and modular code and data structures
* An innate understanding of the issues surrounding large-volume websites and scalability
* Experience creating scrapers and dealing with massive amounts of data
* Experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript is a huge plus
* Plus: Experience with EC2/S3
* Plus: Having a hacking mentality
