I found out from a friend that the Cardiff Half Marathon is running a competition to design a new icon for the logo. It looks like an interesting challenge: how do you create something original, modern and Welsh? I keep thinking of dragons!

Has anyone else heard of this competition or has anyone else entered? What ideas could you think of for a race icon? It'd be pretty cool to get your design on a big race like this!

‘Nat’ is an up and coming Graphic Designer from Mid Wales. A former student of Birmingham Institute of Art & Design. She graduated in 2009, where she developed a keen interest in type, letter forms and specialized in branding.

Her work is fun and quirky. Bright and bold designs with strong graphic and geometric influences often with little comic twists. Her varied projects have included wedding stationary and website design.

Natalie is the ‘here and now’ girl! She likes to be up to date with trends, fashions and new music. Inspired by the designers of tomorrow!

She also enjoys taking a few snaps.  Hardly ever leaving the house without a camera in her bag as she’s afraid that she might miss something, & the opportunity to take a good photo.  As well as using a digital camera, Natalie has also discovered the world of ‘Lomography’, developing techniques with her fisheye camera, & loving the results.

As well as working as a freelance designer she has teamed up with school friend & illustrator Beth Knight to create the design partnership, ‘N&B Design’.
