BookingCenter (http://www.bookingcenter.com/) has an immediate opening for a Web / Media Graphic Designer. Based in Occidental (western Sonoma County) we provide software and network services for the lodging industry. We deliver both Desktop and web-based travel systems. With an XML Booking Engine and competitive rates, no one delivers value to independent hotels, inn, and resorts like BookingCenter. In business for 10 years, we have 12 'partners' spread over 4 countries, are a small, friendly, innovative, hard working group... and looking for a like-minded person to join our team. This position is funded by the Recovery Act as part of the Jobs Now program, so there are additional qualifications, please read below:
To qualify for this position you:
1. Must live within San Francisco County limits
2. Have at least one dependent child under the age of 18 somewhere on Earth. This means you must claim a dependent child on your taxes.
3. You have been unemployed for 30 days or more.
4. In the last 30 days, you have not made more than 200% of the federal poverty line. Only in the last 30 days is this a requirement. Thus, for a family of 4, for example, no more than $3,600 in the last 30 days.
This job is being funded by Federal stimulus money administered through JOBS NOW! in San Francisco, and these are the requirements to qualify for this funding. No scammers on this please because the JOBS NOW! program will have to verify these four items before you can be hired.
Job Summary:
1. Help design video tutorials for our products. Content will come from BookingCenter, but good design sense - and execution - from you.
2. Help re-design our web site (built using a consistent CSS, so easy to 'play' with it) to be more effective.
3. Assist with other design projects and User Interface (UI) tasks as feasible.
4. Have fun and work / play with other BookingCenter partners here in the Bay Area.
Qualifications:
1. Must have excellent web design skills and a good understanding of HTML and CSS with a basic understanding of Ajax, JavaScript, and PHP.
2. Must be able to work from home and have your own computer and high speed internet connection.
3. Must be able to work collaboratively with our team - usually via the web, but for occasional personal meetings as well. Sometimes in San Francisco and sometimes in Sonoma County (bus transport will be provided or gas allowance if you have a car).
4. Prefer someone who has experience with 'Web 2.0' design approaches including video, interactive presentations, and Facebook.
You must provide your own work space (likely at home, as we all do) and computer with high speed internet connection. We will meet with you in person ~ once every week or two, but you will mostly be working on your own. Salary is $30/hour for 20 hours of work per week, and the position is thus 1/2 time and very flexible. We wish to begin immediately.

A hot design agency is looking for a Sr. Designer with at least 8 years of print and web design experience to join their team for several ongoing projects.
