The vision of a better future for sick and injured children has inspired everyone at Seattle Children’s since our founding in 1907. As one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals, we are a trusted resource for medical information on the latest research breakthroughs, clinical treatments, and child health and safety issues.

We recently launched a new, redesigned Web site, www.seattlechildrens.org utilizing Ektron as our CMS and are seeking a seasoned, enthusiastic Project Manager to drive the rollout of the CMS, including overall planning and scheduling, defining workflow, developing training material requirements, and identifying user roles and permissions. This position will work onsite in a freelance/independent contract basis and will be 9 to 12 months in duration.

Required Skills and Experience

• Self starter and independent worker
• Able to collaborate with many stakeholders
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to communicate with developers about technical issues
• Ability to translate diverse business requirements/requests into specific implementable features
• Ability to both plan and execute (project will be require strategic planning, but also hands-on work)
• Ability to write documentation
• Experience with content management systems, CMS workflow, CMS training (Ektron CMS experience preferred, but not required)
• Familiarity with HTML, Javascript
• Experience with web based training material development
• Project management experience
• Experience with large companies

Primary Responsibilities

• Leading discovery process for rollout of distributed authorship. This includes gathering info from stakeholder input, etc and doing final recommendations based on that input.
• Building and communicating project schedule for rollout of distributed authorship
• Establishing workflow for content publication processes
• Establishing roles and permissions for CMS authors and administrators
• Developing processes and workflows for user support
• Developing processes to collect and manage feedback for CMS
• Coordinating with Ektron training vendor for:
  • Development of materials for CMS training
  • End user training
• Training in 1:1 settings on an as-needed basis
• Reporting ongoing project status to stakeholders
